For a fresh sun kissed look, put aside your dark neutral shades and turn up the heat with stunning coral makeup.
Start by applying eyebase or a light neutral eye shadow all over lids right up to the brows, and also apply the color to the lower lash line.
Next take a salmon eyeshadow color and apply on lids up to the outer corners. Your next step is to apply an electric coral shade along the crease line and up leaving space just under the brows. Take the same color and apply the electric coral shade to the lower lash line as well.
Next apply a light almost silvery shade just under brows and also to the inner corner of the eyes.
With a light brown/espresso color, blend just a little into the crease of your lids at the outer edge right over the coral color. Next take your black liquid liner and draw a thin line along your top lash line, and line your ‘water line’ or your lower lash line with a brown liner. Curl your lashes and use two coats of dark brown or black mascara. Finish the look by using the coral shade as blush as well as a light coral gloss.
This glowy, vibrant look is best worn with light colors; I love this look when I am in a white dress. The look makes me feel like I am on an island far far away… hmm… I smell Pina Coladas!
It’s Friday, which means it’s time to ditch the work/school week look and step into your drop dead sexy date night look!
Shades of plum and mauve look sultry when applied in a light wash all the way around the eye. The look is a little younger, and fresher than your usual gray and black. Once you have applied the shimmery plum color to your lids, use a shadow brush to lightly smudge some shadow at the lower lash line.
Next line your eyes with dark black pencil and follow through with two coats of mascara. As always groom your brows, and add a hint of plum brush to the cheeks.
To keep your lips kissably soft, line your lips with a light plum lip pencil and add a conditioning lip balm.
Now that your face looks fresh and gorgeous, you will need head-turning hair!
Go for the sexy poker straight hair, the ideal finish should be glossy not greasy. The secret is to not use too many products. Simply work some high-shine setting spray through your hair after the blow dry.

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? We all have days that seem endlessly tough and emotionally draining. Then there are days where it seems as though the odds are stacked against us, and one terrible situation follows another. Sometimes it is necessary for us to just suck it up and work our way through the day, and other times its best take some time off and take a breather before carrying on.
Hard times can be a great teacher, getting through it will allow you to look back on it and see the ingenuity, strength and courage it took to hold our own during the difficult time. Over the years I have learned that in order for me to greet the next day with delight, I sometimes need to take a timely retreat and give myself space and re-center myself. In that time I may be doing a number of things from exercising, spending time with a chosen loved one, reading, cooking, or simply taking a walk. Whatever it is that I decide to do, my goal is to gain a little perspective and then change my attitude about what’s happening.
In time I realize my difficult times can actually be seen as an opportunity. As I begin to see things from a different vantage point my circumstances seem to better, and over time will be better.
Like any normal person, I hate difficult times…I am not a fan of uncomfortable feelings, and sleepless nights. But like Leona Lewis says, it’ll all get better in time!
I guess you can say I’m one of the lucky ones. I have long, thick, healthy straight hair…and as you can see I am very humble about this fact. You won’t see me bragging about how amazing my hair is, that is not my personality.
Because I am blessed with great hair (like I said I’m very modest), I tend to spend very little time styling it. What I like to do after I have washed my hair is to towel dry it then let it air dry. Before it dries completely though, I French braid my hair and let it stay this way overnight. The next day I let out the braid and finger comb my hair.
It is THE easiest way to get a sexy, sultry, beach-hair look.
If your hair is curly I am jealous of you. I for one can never get my hair to have that bouncy, curly hair look. The trick for you privileged haired gals to achieve the tousled hair look is to loosen it up and recreate the shape of your hair. After you have towel dried your hair, divide and braid four sections of your hair and secure the ends with an elastic band. Once your hair is almost dry unwind the braid and use your fingers to distribute a styling product (Pantene Pro-V Texture Foam Wax ~ $6.50) from roots to tips, and blow-dry using a diffuser while scrunching to create texture and volume. To create a more controlled look, use a two-inch curling iron vertically, and let the curls drop. And just like the straight haired gals, use your fingers to comb and loosen the look.
If you have wavy hair then you practically walk around with this sexy look all the time already. To perfect this look, follow the directions for straight hair BUT instead of washing your hair, simply mist your hair a little and then follow braiding and styling directions.
I have been aware of my posture as far back as I can remember which makes it really hard for me to stop myself from screaming out, “Stand up straight!” at the nearest hunchback around.
The first thing I notice is posture because it screams messages about a person. You can be drop dead gorgeous, but if you have terrible posture I will automatically assume you are ashamed of taking up space. Whereas a person who stands up straight, shoulders back, stomach in, gives off a vibe of confidence and pride.
But looking good and giving off the right aura is not the only reason to be aware of your posture. It is your health. A good friend of mine ALWAYS points out people with bad posture. He is one of the few people who I know who considers posture to be an important aspect of fitness. What begins with an unawareness of your body can lead to real health problems in the long run if not corrected.
I am not a fan of working out and being too active. But if you feel as though you have poor posture, or sit at a computer all day long, then you might consider doing some basic yoga exercises. Yoga frequently requires you to sit erect and pull your shoulder blades back.
Truth is for the majority of people, having excellent posture does not come naturally, it takes effort. You have to work at it until it feels abnormal to slouch! The payoff in terms of your health is high and well worth the little effort it takes to get there.
So please sit and stand erect so I don’t have to force myself to quiet down…because next time I will yell at you!

I received an unusually early phone call from one of my girlfriends this morning, apparently her “Thirsty Thursday” night plans ended with some Hills-like drama. Though she only remembers bits and pieces of the night, she is pretty sure she puked on her date and flashed her Britney to his friend while getting out of the car. Not only does she feel like she was run over by an elephant, but now she has to deal with the uncomfortable situation of explaining to her love interest that she is in fact a classy broad. All of this could have been avoided, this should not be happening as much anymore. Celebrities like Amy Winehouse have made it a crime to act like this in public.
How much alcohol is too much? If you’re going to drink alcohol it is up to you to make this judgment call.
I love to be out with my friends, drinking and engaging in unusually loud banter, being silly and letting lose. But there is a thin line between losing your inhibitions and losing control of yourself, and that’s exactly what my too early to call me friend did last night. When someone drinks too much not only are they putting themselves in danger, but they are extremely obnoxious to everyone around them. There’s a point when ‘happy juice’ becomes ‘lousy juice’ and the bad effects of the alcohol outweighs the fun effects.
The amount of alcohol you can handle is different for everyone, but usually more is not better. So, if you are out drinking and you think you might just be at your limit… YOU PROBABLY ARE! And if your friends think you are at your limit, YOU PROBABLY ARE!
It’s highly unlikely that you will regret not drinking enough the next morning, so save yourself the embarrassment and your friends from the Hills-recap the next morning by making the necessary judgement call. Cheers!
