Get Inspired
It’s no secret I love 60′s fashion and mod make-up …so when I saw Beyonce’s Countdown music video, I was in love!
I especially fell in LOVE with the yellow cat’s eye you see in this photo right here. She transitions throughout several colors of the same look, but it returns to yellow – the color pops against sun kissed skin, super sexy.

Christian Louboutin Inspired by Bollywood!
Bollywood, for those who are unfamiliar is the informal word coined for Indian Hollywood. And the Bollywood world is just amazing, insanely popular, and filled with so much glitz and glamour. Looks like Christian Louboutin agrees because his new S/S 2012 collection is inspired by Bollywood!
These heels are drool worthy!
Make that a Medium
I have long hair, it comes down to my waist … it is straight and dark and thick. I get tons of compliments on my hair, and I do absolutely appreiciate and acknowledge that I am lucky to be able to grow out my hair and it still be healthy. But I am bored … I feel like I have pretty much had the same look for a long time, and even though no one else is complaining, quite opposite actually…everyone else wants to know my secret, but that’s other post, mostly having to do with genes and how-to care for hair. But anyhow…I have been itching for a classy new, easier to manage look. And while I’m at it, I can use a pair of balls to get me to go through with it.
I know! I know, trust me, I know hair grows back, and if my hair grows back fast, why not just do something new and fun and give myself that makeover that will make me feel like a whole new person. And do it for the New Year?!?!?! Perfect timing right.
Well I might just do it, I think it is time…and I have been eye-balling the medium length bob haircut for sometimee now. The look is so chic, sexy, fun, and best of all easy to manage! I just love the medium length bob hairstyle… I would ask my stylist to make the hair hit right above my collarbones! *dreams about new look*
So Mad about Men
Life got in the way okay. That is the truth, so much has happened this passed year, I simply could not get myself to sit down and add a new entry to my very public diary. I miss this … between getting married and building an empire (a girl must dream big) there have been lots of little things that have kept me away from being PrettyObsessed with all things pretty…
I wanted to come back strong, but instead…I feel like sharing with you all how much I miss watching Mad Men now that I’m all caught up with the seasons. There are many reasons to love the show! Great writing, superb cast, awesome theme song, deeply troubled characters, the awesome plot … I can go on and on, but what I am really missing is the inspiration I use to get from the very put together women on the show. There were the ambitious career beauties, the bombshells, the mistresses, secretaries and wives …and then there was Betty.
Getting ready to do anything suddenly meant looking as put together as the imperfectly perfect former Mrs. Betty Draper. I want to be draped in the dresses worn during the 60′s, not have a single hair out of place, always have my makeup done perfectly, flawless nails and always use proper housewife etiquette when in the company of another human. *SIGH* until next season…
Dream Switch
I have always had a taste for the classic, tailored, subtly sexy style. And this socialite better known as Olivia Palermo has this kind of keen fashion sense. The first I had heard of her was when my fiances friend said I remind him of this girl from an MTV show called The City. So of course I googled her, and I was relieved and flattered. She became the sole reason I would tune in to watch the show. Her awesome taste in clothing and accessories, not to mention her hairstyles and overall perfectly polish look, was worth watching a crappy “reality” show for.
If I could switch closets with anyone out there, it would definitely be with this socialite! She does tend to have some fashion misses, things either look too large on her or she will make an over the top unflattering choice. But there is no denying that when Olivia gets it right, the sartorial results are out of this world.
On a side note, she seems to have rubbed off on her current boyfriend. Personally I like my men to look like men, he just seems to try too hard, definitely not my cup of tea. And I love me some tea!
Loud and Proud
Neon dresses, makeup, trousers, shirts, rompers, underwear… you name it, it is out there! This is no time to be timid, fellow fashionistas, neon fashion is here so embrace your bold side and strut your stuff with the eye catching trend. If you have it in you to be loud and proud, then remember to let the neon trend of your choice do the talking and keep everything else to a minimum.
Tip: At the risk of looking like a walking highlighter, it is best to keep the accessories and/or makeup to a minimum. When in doubt, wear nude colors…shoes, makeup, accessories… you get the picture!
GQ Covers
Gq (Gentelmen’s Quarterly) is a men’s magazine that has been around since 1957, said to be the male equivalent to vogue. I subscribe to vogue and I have yet to see a cover that has a hot guy Photoshopped so perfectly for my viewing pleasure. Every now and again they have a girl eye candy on their covers, usually fully dressed unlike the fairer sex who sometimes are strategically covered by a small piece of cloth or inanimate object.
Knowing how much each photo is photoshopped barely takes away from the beauty of it. Here are some of the best…

and how can i leave out the sexiest of them all…the men must have loved it…
Snow White
This months issue of Cosmopolitan is claiming that white is the new black for nails. I saw this trend popping up a few weeks back and I have to agree with the fashion gurus. Black is old… I was never very fond of the trend anyway, only a few well manicured hands could pull it off and even then it should have been a last resort. But this white nail trend I like… it is something i will definitely try out…maybe even for my upcoming Bridal Shower. Come to think of it, it won’t be my first time, in grade school I use to paint my nails with White Out when I would get bored. Maybe I’ll let the professionals handle it this time.
Fun Hairstyle: Side Braid Upgrade
I wear the side braid pretty often, at home, and even when I get dolled up. Depending on how your makeup is done, and how you are dressed the look is incredibly versatile. I saw these photos of Rihanna and thought, SUPER cute, how did is it I’ve never thought of wearing my side braid this way? Her hairstylist framed her face with two small braids ,that then attached them to create a more beautiful side braid. With some patience and practice, this upgraded braid is totally wearable.
