It’s no secret I love 60′s fashion and mod make-up …so when I saw Beyonce’s Countdown music video, I was in love!
I especially fell in LOVE with the yellow cat’s eye you see in this photo right here. She transitions throughout several colors of the same look, but it returns to yellow – the color pops against sun kissed skin, super sexy.

I came across this video and was very impressed at her skills…the power of makeup…amazing!
I caught the most important part of the Golden Globes this year, and that is the 2012 Golden Globes fashion discussions. And after going through many many dresses I decided not only are the following women best dressed, but they have the best overall look. Great hair, makeup and accessories…
And now, in no particular order…the women of the hour!
Angelina Jolie
It was refreshing to see Angelina Jolie in something other than black. It is always nice to see some color going, she is absolutely stunning in this elegant Ateliar Versace gown. I love how she made her lips her main accessory to the gown by pulling her hair back and keeping her makeup simple other than the pop of red that matches the gown perfectly. Stunning!
Charlize Theron
She is no doubt a beautiful specimen of a woman, but I wasn’t that impressed with her neutral Christian Dior Couture gown until I saw it close up. Suddenly she looked like a flowing angel, her face was absolutely flawless …everything about her look head to toe seemed so effortless yet perfect.
Salma Hayek
I thought she looked beautiful when presenting an award with Antonio Banderas in her Gucci gown. She got some flack from other fashion gurus, saying the dress simply didn’t do her body justice. I disagree, she looked great…the dress hugged her curves, her makeup looked amazing and her hair looked thick and luscious!
Maria Menounos
Oooh this one was one my favs! Yellow …so stunning! Maria Menounos looked like a little piece of sunshine in her sleek, snug gown. I especially love how well the gown fits her body, it makes her waist look impeccable! Definitely one of my favorites!
Sophia Vergara
This beautiful loud mouth looked gorgeous in her cobalt blue mermaid Vera Wang gown. She paired the sleek look with tons of diamonds…I think this one made my favorite list because it reminded me a lot of my wedding reception outfit! Love!
Kate Beckinsale
Kate Beckinsale can do little wrong. She is one of those effortless beauties who looks just as glamorous in sweats. Here she is in Roberto Cavalli looking just grand! She can’t get enough of mermaid silhouettes and for good reason, she looks great in them.
Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman surprised me a little by wearing this sexy Versace gown. She has an amazing figure and obviously is not afraid to show it.
I have long hair, it comes down to my waist … it is straight and dark and thick. I get tons of compliments on my hair, and I do absolutely appreiciate and acknowledge that I am lucky to be able to grow out my hair and it still be healthy. But I am bored … I feel like I have pretty much had the same look for a long time, and even though no one else is complaining, quite opposite actually…everyone else wants to know my secret, but that’s other post, mostly having to do with genes and how-to care for hair. But anyhow…I have been itching for a classy new, easier to manage look. And while I’m at it, I can use a pair of balls to get me to go through with it.
I know! I know, trust me, I know hair grows back, and if my hair grows back fast, why not just do something new and fun and give myself that makeover that will make me feel like a whole new person. And do it for the New Year?!?!?! Perfect timing right.
Well I might just do it, I think it is time…and I have been eye-balling the medium length bob haircut for sometimee now. The look is so chic, sexy, fun, and best of all easy to manage! I just love the medium length bob hairstyle… I would ask my stylist to make the hair hit right above my collarbones! *dreams about new look*
Life got in the way okay. That is the truth, so much has happened this passed year, I simply could not get myself to sit down and add a new entry to my very public diary. I miss this … between getting married and building an empire (a girl must dream big) there have been lots of little things that have kept me away from being PrettyObsessed with all things pretty…
I wanted to come back strong, but instead…I feel like sharing with you all how much I miss watching Mad Men now that I’m all caught up with the seasons. There are many reasons to love the show! Great writing, superb cast, awesome theme song, deeply troubled characters, the awesome plot … I can go on and on, but what I am really missing is the inspiration I use to get from the very put together women on the show. There were the ambitious career beauties, the bombshells, the mistresses, secretaries and wives …and then there was Betty.
Getting ready to do anything suddenly meant looking as put together as the imperfectly perfect former Mrs. Betty Draper. I want to be draped in the dresses worn during the 60′s, not have a single hair out of place, always have my makeup done perfectly, flawless nails and always use proper housewife etiquette when in the company of another human. *SIGH* until next season…
I have always had a taste for the classic, tailored, subtly sexy style. And this socialite better known as Olivia Palermo has this kind of keen fashion sense. The first I had heard of her was when my fiances friend said I remind him of this girl from an MTV show called The City. So of course I googled her, and I was relieved and flattered. She became the sole reason I would tune in to watch the show. Her awesome taste in clothing and accessories, not to mention her hairstyles and overall perfectly polish look, was worth watching a crappy “reality” show for.
If I could switch closets with anyone out there, it would definitely be with this socialite! She does tend to have some fashion misses, things either look too large on her or she will make an over the top unflattering choice. But there is no denying that when Olivia gets it right, the sartorial results are out of this world.
On a side note, she seems to have rubbed off on her current boyfriend. Personally I like my men to look like men, he just seems to try too hard, definitely not my cup of tea. And I love me some tea!
Now this these are the kinds of outfits I would LOVE to pack in my suitcase when going away for a weekend…for some R&R and then some much needed fun come night time! Just this past weekend my fiance and I went to D.C. and enjoyed the nightlife! It is always a blast playing dress up and dancing the night away! Dresses like these would certainly set the stage for more than just dancing!
It’s that time of the year again to show off your lovely gams. And for those of you who do not have Cam Diaz legs, no problemo, there are ways to embrace the style with just as much sass.
Most important is finding a pair of short shorts that do not, I repeat, DO NOT show even a hint of butt-cheek. Bend over and check, doing so will save you from being ridiculed.
There is definitely a way to pull off short shorts the ladylike way. I especially love the preppy look, or the slightly loose boxy short shorts. Most importantly, to really perfect the look and give your legs that extra oomph…wear heels!
I have forgotten how gorgeous Halle Berry is, not sure when I stopped paying attention. She is just amazing, at 44 she looks great, hell she looks great period. She had a child, and has a man haircut and still looks better than 90% of women out there…Here’s to taking care of yourself and keeping yourself together.
I really adore how Kat (that is how I will always refer to her because we are close friends) always looks so pulled together…so prim and proper. I understand she had to take all kinds of etiquette classes, and has people dressing her head to toe…but if I was someones puppet, I would want to look like a Mattel business casual doll at important outings as well.
